The objective of the skin nerd is to act as an educational platform. The website offers unbiased yet highly qualified advice with a view to ensuring long-term skin health in an informative and objective manner.
The concept was created by multi-award winning dermal facialist and skin lecturer Jennifer Rock, aka “The Skin Nerd”. An award-winning aesthetician, facialist and international skin lecturer for brands and professional bodies such as ITEC and CIDESCO, Jennifer has lectured on skincare in the USA, London, Paris, Melbourne, Glasgow and Dublin. Jennifer has also lectured alongside such aesthetic luminaries as IMAGE Skincare certified plastic surgeon Dr Marc Ronert and the co-creator of the esteemed London Harley Street Medical Hospital Dr Ahmar Khan, to name but a few.
Jennifer has also attended skin conferences all over the world alongside plastic surgeons, dietitians, cardiovascular surgeons, aesthetic surgeons, nutritionists, and nurses. A keen skin enthusiast, Jennifer realises and appreciates that one angle and one qualification alone is often not sufficient to tackle many stubborn skin conditions.
“One cleanser will not eradicate acne; similarly, antibiotics alone may not provide fast track results. In addition, certain skin conditions can trigger psychological implications and inhibit an individual leading a healthy and fulfilled lifestyle. If we treat the skin as an organ and respect it accordingly, we will realise it is a systemic condition, not merely a vanity or accessory. It deserves a systematic approach.”
With this unique approach to skin health in mind, Jennifer has assembled a panel of highly qualified professionals, all of whom are at the very top of their respective sectors, to give impartial advice to help people along their journey to optimum skin health. These advisors include: aesthetic medical doctors, functional medical doctors, pharmacists, aesthetic nurses, nutritionists, beauty therapists, makeup artists, acupuncturists and semi-permanent makeup practitioners.
